Interesting list of 25 players out on loan here and abroad.

Hope club is separating into 4 clear groups:

1. experienced players who have no future with us and need getting off our books
2. young players who are expected to make transition to Prem standard, but need game time
3. young players who are expected to make a career, but will be sold somewhere else to recoup cost of investment in them, but need exposure (Champ/Lge1?)
4. players who have had injury and need recuperation somewhere else to regain sharpness

It does seem a very long list. Is this because we are now recruiting better people into the academy, and several youngsters have been 'pushed out'?

Any thoughts on any on the list who might make the big step to Prem standard??

I doubt any on that list will ever play for our first team (again) except maybe Benny Ashley-Seal or Donovan Wilson in an early League Cup game next season.

Those already in non-league are fighting to have any form of professional career as footballers at all.

That being the case, shouldn't we be just terminating contracts and helping to find other clubs? Not as if we are going to sell most of such for much, if anything.

Surely the guys we want out on loan should be:
young and needing a bit of experience in the 'adult' game (but not for more than 3 months - don't want them into bad habits of most players/clubs/coaches!)
more experienced recovering from injury and need game time
experienced pros who are not Prem, but expensive and need shifting off wage bill until we can sell.

Harsh world, but one they all knew about....

Just terminating contracts shows us to be too ruthless and not looking out for the welfare of those kids we’ve had on our books since early teenage years. If we begin to just cut people loose, young talent would go elsewhere as those clubs would be seen as growing the academy talent as people. Ultimately they are responsible as a form of education to set them up for life with a small percentage making the grade. It’s hardly a cost drain on the club compared to the likes of some dead wood wages.

Probably looking to get fee's for some of these players, we have already binned off Gladon, Mason and Collins for nowt, I can't see the likes of Simpson or Hayden having a career here so they could be binned too but the rest we would probably like some Wonga for

Bonatini started at Forest ... replaced at half time. Not a great start.... Hope it was injury or tactical rather than poor.

..... 4 hours later.....

Having now seen comments of Forest fans, have to conclude he had no injury.... Feel for the lad. He needs 'supporters' not 'customers'. Hope it comes good for him, and manager is not one who reads fan sites!

Clear the decks, he will be gone from our continent next summer having made himself another million during his stay.
