Another mid week another match. Not sure this one really whets the appetite but hopefully a chance to give some more of the squad a go. Will Fabio be fabulous, can Vitinha (Ferreira) perform like a Ferrari? Time to find out and if we get to the last 8 or so we can get excited again.

Come on you Wolves.

I hate these early league cup games where you just get a random assortment of players strung together who will never play together again. Any win to get the job done will suffice, but I fancy Stoke might put out a strong team.

WE have put out a very strong line-up.

Seems like Nuno fancies a trophy.... or is simply treating as a pre-season....

Will be interesting to see how the two new lads up front cope with Adama; he ain't the easiest to play with, and with Burr behind him too....

And no Jota.... Is he hurt? Has travelled but not even on bench....

And no Kilman. Thought he might get a run out and certainly a bench place....??

All will be revealed no doubt - but I ain't paying ANOTHER £10 (when I already fork out for Sky & BT....)

What's best way to follow? Is there a radio commentary?

There’s a £2.50 fee for radio commentary but I couldn’t be bothered signing up etc as we were just about to have dinner - would have done if it was a 20:00 KO. At 0-0 at HT I don’t reckon I’m missing much but was hoping someone on here would give a brief synopsis.

Someone’s streaming the match from their TV on Facebook. Just seen Silva miss the target from 3 yards for a certain goal if he’d hit it right!

Bit of a heart attack earlier, saw Brighton's teamsheet - had a Mr Dendoncker on it - thought wtf have Wolves gone and done now. Just gone thru their online squad and can only conclude it was a Sky cock up.

You would not believe how dire this match is! 0-1 after 86 mins.

A cross from Traore went from the side of the area to the far side of the field when he had time for a cross, so high and hard it bounced just before going out. That was just one pitiful attack.

Silva blasts over from inside the area! He’s not had a good game.

Ruddy could have done better....poor attempt to parry the shot that was straight at him..

That is the worst I’ve seen us play in a long time - a bit like during our Saunders period.

That was a piss wank charade of competing in a cup game. This means we truly are a premier league side now

I forked out the £10 to watch it on the live stream. My son said we would have got more entertainment from lighting a £10 note and seeing how long we could hold it. He was right. It was awful, no urgency, no fluency, no understanding between players. I hope Silva is sharper than he showed tonight. I guess I should highlight the redeeming feature, err, there wasn't one.

Oh dear, terrible performance. Excuse me while I choke on these words.......the best team won. So many errors, I haven`t enough fingers and toes to count them all. Culminating in Ruddy flapping at a weak shot as if he was trying to swat a fly. I think the majority of our possession was between Coady to Boly to Coady to Saiss back to Coady to Boly to Coady to et al. Oh well, we can concentrate on the league now.

A £2.50 fee for radio -wtf?...what sort of world are we living in I've never paid for 'live' football never have and never will?
TV I will begrudgingly accept , but radio , fuck that , why the fuck would you pay for radio,
The thin end of the wedge just got a whole lot thinner.

A few more years practice and Ruddy will surely manage to save a shot.

A nicely reduced schedule this season then.. no fatigue excuses please.

Have we put in a decent performance in this competition in the 21st century? I don't know why we bother entering it...
It means nothing and does the players no good at all.
Ditch it!

I actually hoped that it would have been retired this season with the corona issue and the fact that it now "only" yields a place in the "Europa Conference League". France have ended their league cup, so England is the only nation still going with this concept.

The game at Man City during the promotion year when we would have won is Bright hadn't botched that one-on-one in the last second springs to mind when it comes to good performances, but they have been few and decidedly far between.

Here’s two

If Nuno tried that hard with the players he put on to win that game let’s hope we also really try to win the FA Cup. That should be a serious aspiration this season to keep the team progressing.

Also let’s hope that’s our worst performance for a long time .
