I don't know why I started watching this as I thought I was a bit young for it 8) . I have now watched it for about three months now and I am captivated by it. It is wonderful television and the endings would make a glass eye cry.
The premise is this, people from all walks of life bring in items that are very dear to them but appear mundane to us. they bring anything and everything in, some needing light repairs and a touch up and some smoshed to bits.
They all in turn get beautifully repaired and restored and returned to their owners. The emotions shown by the owners are overwhelming and real and delightful to watch.
I wondered why I like the programme so much and I realised that the programme is a metaphor for the NHS.
By that I mean that people suffering hurt and loss and pain go to the NHS where a selection of highly skilled human beings do their utmost to restore that person back to their best condition, same as the tv show.
If you don't cry at the programme you might want to check if you are actually a Terminator?

Fronted by our own Jay Blades, what a story his life is..
It's a programme based on childhood memories and sentiment, and it is great to watch
